11:20:09 <nhnt11> hey folks, I keep running into issues with viewing logs
11:20:31 <nhnt11> I'm considering spending some time to try and figure out these issues next week, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to
11:20:46 <nhnt11> one issue for example is that I just tried to view the "Today" log for a channel, and was presented a log from 8 months ago
11:21:03 <nhnt11> (and it took me a while to figure out that this log was older - I was pretty confused for a bit)
11:21:17 <nhnt11> this might be a bug in some code that I wrote in gsoc '14...
11:24:57 <nhnt11> oh
11:25:01 <nhnt11> this might actually be my fault
11:25:31 <nhnt11> I found that the log being shown had a conversation around March 5
11:26:15 <nhnt11> I think it's possible that I was messing with my system time on that day...
11:26:29 <nhnt11> and Tb ended up recording a log with a november timestamp
11:26:35 <nhnt11> and it's being shown to me now
11:26:36 <nhnt11> sigh
11:26:51 <nhnt11> that's annoying, I should have closed Tb before messing with system time
11:27:46 <nhnt11> oh!
11:27:54 <nhnt11> I just looked at my logs folder
11:28:06 <nhnt11> the log has a timestamp of 2020-03-08-blabla
11:28:39 <nhnt11> I think this was when I was testing a firefox monitor thing where we had a threshold of 1 year
11:28:56 <nhnt11> I pushed my system date by 1 year + 1 or 2 days
11:29:25 <nhnt11> seems like Tb is just using the log that is furthest in time according to UTC, rather than actually "today"
11:29:37 <nhnt11> I could be wrong, but we'll see
11:29:54 * nhnt11 is annoyed by system time logic
11:30:11 <nhnt11> I wonder if I should change the fxmonitor stuff to use some sort of network time lookup

17:38:14 <florian> I don't thnk it does that, no
17:43:37 <clokep> Huh...
17:43:38 <clokep> OK...
17:43:48 <clokep> Maybe I'm thinking of an extension we had for IB.
17:44:08 <clokep> Well then, if you type in the box on a disconnect XMPP account it tries to send data over a non-existent socket. :)
