07:14:20 <gerv> Over a month, in fact.
07:14:24 <gerv> Same, it seems, for the update server
07:14:29 <gerv> so Instantbird can't check for updates.

13:03:10 <qheaden> Hello
13:14:01 <florian> Hey :)
13:15:14 <qheaden> Hey florian!
13:15:44 <qheaden> Looking at buildbot.instantbird.org, it seems that the Linux build is broken. Is this a result of the builder config or the code just can't compile right now?
13:15:48 * qheaden hasn't built IB in some time.
13:17:11 <florian> qheaden: the builder is broken

15:31:36 <qheaden> Strange. When I connect to a GTalk account, my contacts list says "undefined" and there are no contacts under it.
15:31:38 <-- fredw has quit (Client exited)
15:31:44 <qheaden> Is this a known bug? I'm on Linux x64
15:32:28 --> gerard-majax has joined #instantbird
15:34:35 <qheaden> FWIW, I am actually able to receive messages from contacts and talk with them. I am can also see them listed in the New Conversation tab filter.

17:46:03 <qheaden> clokep_work: Seems to always happen
17:46:15 <qheaden> Tried my work account and my personal account.
17:46:45 <not-freaktechnik> sounds like a gander at the protocol logs might be useful.
17:46:51 <qheaden> When I get some time, I'll see if I can build Ib and try to debug it.
17:47:04 <not-freaktechnik> is this in TB?
17:47:22 <qheaden> not-freaktechnik: Just regular Instantbird. I can try Thunderbird and see if I get the same issue.
17:47:36 <not-freaktechnik> right, in instantbird you can directly look at the protocol's debug log
17:47:46 <not-freaktechnik> though I don't remember how
17:48:49 <not-freaktechnik> either via a command or something in the account manager I think
17:49:09 <qheaden> Looks like TB downloads the contact list just fine.
17:49:38 <qheaden> not-freaktechnik: Yeah I remember you could change the logging level with a pref if I remember correctly.
17:50:09 <not-freaktechnik> hmm, I thought you could see everything, but I mostly use TB these days for chat, because simplicty
18:04:21 <bgmCoder> qheaden: have you enabled two-step authentication in your google account?
18:04:38 <bgmCoder> I know that if two-step verification is enabled you can't connect TB
18:04:47 <bgmCoder> and you can't enable "less secure apps"
18:04:54 <bgmCoder> you might need that for the chat to work
18:05:22 <clokep_work> qheaden, not-freaktechnik: You can look at protocol logs in TB too.
18:05:34 <not-freaktechnik> clokep_work: I know, and I know how it works there
18:05:39 <not-freaktechnik> well, you can actually just copy them
18:06:08 <qheaden> bgmCoder: No I don't have 2FA enabled.
18:06:29 <not-freaktechnik> *only
18:06:37 <bgmCoder> are you still having trouble connecting your gtalk?
18:06:59 <not-freaktechnik> no, they are having trouble getting the contacts list to work in ib
18:07:16 <bgmCoder> sorry - I'm late in the conversation
18:07:19 <bgmCoder> mine is working
18:07:25 --> Logicoma has joined #instantbird
18:07:33 <qheaden> bgmCoder: Yeah GTalk connects just fine. I can chat with people, but I can't see them in the list of contacts.
18:07:35 <bgmCoder> I have three gmail accounts loaded
18:07:57 <bgmCoder> my contacts in the contacts list are all googles
18:08:15 <bgmCoder> but I'm running on windows with 1.6a1pre
18:08:28 <-- gerard-majax has quit (Ping timeout: 121 seconds)
18:11:39 <qheaden> Example of what I am seeing: http://imgur.com/Qg1b9F4
18:11:49 <qheaden> I am on Ubuntu Linux x64
18:11:54 <qheaden> 1.6a1pre
18:12:25 <bgmCoder> if you right-click on that, do you have the submenu?
18:12:35 <bgmCoder> that is, right-click on "undefined"
18:12:49 <qheaden> Yeah
18:13:10 <bgmCoder> what happens if you "show offline contacts"? maybe it will jar something
18:13:21 <qheaden> Just tried. Nothing.
18:13:48 <bgmCoder> you've restarted it, right? maybe kill it and start it?
18:13:55 <bgmCoder> maybe some process is hung?
18:14:15 <bgmCoder> I'm sorry if the others have already gone through this and I'm repeating things...
18:14:30 --> MrPickle-M has joined #instantbird
18:14:47 <bgmCoder> I've never seen so many people in this chat room before
18:17:31 <qheaden> bgmCoder: Tried all of that. I even deleted my profile. Same thing.
18:18:00 <bgmCoder> oooooohh
18:18:12 <bgmCoder> I hate deleting profiles
18:18:28 <qheaden> Strange thing. Under the sections I can click on invisible boxes as if the contacts are there, but I can't do anything with them.
18:18:32 <qheaden> Not sure if this is a rendering issue or not.
18:18:42 <bgmCoder> multiple monitors?
18:19:56 <bgmCoder> do you have any "auto-joined channels" in the account settings?
18:22:32 <bgmCoder> I'm just poking around; who knows..
18:24:49 <bgmCoder> qheaden: can you connect with a different google account?
18:25:07 <bgmCoder> if you *can* then we would know the issue is with the first account
18:25:15 <qheaden> bgmCoder: I am connected to two different accounts. Same issue.
18:27:55 <bgmCoder> can you add a new contact in the list?
18:28:12 <bgmCoder> I mean, can you *add* a contact?
18:28:49 <bgmCoder> maybe the group name got deleted somehow?

20:16:32 <not-freaktechnik> woah, my indexed logs json is 250MB >_>
20:20:54 <not-freaktechnik> now... how would I even look at that in a sensible way, as it's all on one line...

20:58:49 <not-freaktechnik> now that I've fixed my logs saving being broken I get two new errors that explain the chat pane still being empty in TB: https://pastebin.mozilla.org/9025567

21:46:45 <matrixisreal[M]> clokep, florian
21:46:45 <matrixisreal[M]> I am maintaining the conversations , both dm and non dm in a "conversations" map, which is very similar to how things are done in irc.js,
21:46:46 <matrixisreal[M]> So, whenever the user requests for existing conversation, i fetch from this map. But if a private Conversation is closed, it is removed from Services.conversations and so the conversation in my map is no longer valid, so when the user again asks for the same conversation we get an error.
21:47:08 <matrixisreal[M]> How is this handled in irc?
21:55:33 --> fredw has joined #instantbird
22:02:56 <-- fredw has quit (Client exited)
22:05:29 <not-freaktechnik> I believe irc just layilz creates conversations, everything goes through createConversation, and if it exists the one from the map is returned
22:05:38 <not-freaktechnik> *lazily
22:06:37 <not-freaktechnik> (https://dxr.mozilla.org/comm-central/source/chat/protocols/irc/irc.js#1652)
22:07:30 <not-freaktechnik> but I assume your question is more about how irc prunes convs from the map?
22:08:48 <not-freaktechnik> I believe this is handled via the unInit stuff
22:09:55 <not-freaktechnik> (this unInit: https://dxr.mozilla.org/comm-central/source/chat/components/public/prplIConversation.idl#70)
